My Approach

 

Real movement. Nervous system support. A way forward. 


When you’ve been through a major injury, illness, or life-altering health experience, recovery isn’t just physical—it’s mental, emotional, and nervous-system deep. 


You may feel stuck. Worn down. Ready to move forward, but unsure how. 


That’s where I come in—not just as a physiotherapist, but as a specialist in whole-person rehabilitation. 


How I Work 

With over 30 years of clinical experience, I bring together: 

  • Movement rehabilitation grounded in the JEMS® Movement System  (www.jemsmovement.com)
  • My own Designed2Move® functional rehab framework, based on over 10 yrs working with people with serious multiple injury from major physical trauma
  • Somatic and trauma-informed coaching for nervous system support 
  • Firstbeat® heart rate variability assessment and lifestyle coaching 
  • Expertise in return-to-work and cancer rehabilitation 


Together, we explore what your body has been holding physically and emotionally and rebuild movement, trust, and confidence from the inside out.

💠 Movement Re-education 

Using JEMS® and my own Designed2Move® framework, we rebuild movement as a skill, not a checklist. We focus on: 

  • Real-world adaptability 
  • Functional return to activity 
  • Confidence, ease, and variation—not compensation and fear 


💠 Nervous System Integration 

I combine movement with somatic coaching to address: 

  • Residual fear, tension, or shutdown post-injury or illness 
  • Overwhelm in the recovery process 
  • Developing emotional and physical safety in movement again 


💠 Firstbeat® HRV Lifestyle Coaching 

This offers data-driven insight into: 

  • Recovery vs stress 
  • Nervous system load 
  • Sleep and energy use 
  • And how daily life is really affecting your capacity 

It complements your recovery by showing us what your body may already be trying to tell you. 


💠 Return to Work Rehabilitation 

I provide clinical support for: 

  • Strategic, phased return to physical or cognitive demands 
  • Emotional readiness to re-enter work 
  • Complex rehabilitation (including personal injury cases or home visits)

💠 Cancer Recovery 

As a CANREHAB trained clinician, I help people: 

  • Reconnect with their bodies after treatment 
  • Rebuild movement and energy without pressure 
  • Navigate post-treatment challenges that aren’t always visible 


Who I Work With 

I support people who are: 

  • Local and active, managing movement restrictions or long-term conditions 
  • Rebuilding life post-surgery, injury, cancer, or trauma 
  • Referred for complex rehab or post-accident support 
  • Experiencing a physical and emotional system overload 
  • Ready to explore both body and nervous system in their recovery 

Sessions may take place in-clinic, online or via home visits.
